LEAD CULINARY OPERATIONS MANAGER

Position Summary:

As the Lead Culinary Operations Manager, you will oversee both back and front of house functions within the food service departments. Your role will involve maintaining a high-quality culinary program and managing all financial reporting aspects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Menu development and innovation
  • Inventory management and purchasing
  • Labor and food cost control
  • Ensuring compliance with sanitation standards
  • Personnel management, including hiring, coaching, and training

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise operations in alignment with organizational policies and legal standards
  • Engage in employee meetings and training initiatives
  • Implement safety, sanitation, and maintenance protocols
  • Maintain food costs while upholding quality standards
  • Actively participate in team development and management
  • Oversee purchasing and inventory control processes
  • Execute additional duties and special projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of five years in progressive culinary management roles
  • Proactive, innovative, and capable of multitasking
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure and inspire the team
  • Passion for culinary excellence
  • Knowledge of HACCP controls and food storage best practices
  • Experience in purchasing, food storage, and sanitation
  • Familiarity with P&L and financial reporting
  • Understanding of budgets, labor costs, and inventory management
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and training capabilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and POS systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional business etiquette and client relations
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling principles
  • Commitment to personal integrity and ethical conduct
  • ServSafe or Department of Health certification is a plus
