The primary objective of the Culinary Operations Manager is to collaborate closely with and, in the absence of the Executive Chef, oversee and enhance the culinary operations. The ideal candidate will achieve this by supervising the daily activities of the culinary department, offering support and guidance to the culinary team, ultimately ensuring a positive experience for our guests.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assist senior management by developing and taking on key leadership responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between all culinary division departments and other hotel divisions
  • Oversee the performance of departmental Sous Chefs and provide guidance on food preparation and cooking techniques
  • Create and implement innovative menu items that align with Hyatt's brand standards
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute special events and holiday celebrations
  • Manage hourly kitchen staff through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluations, and recruitment
  • Lead and mentor the team to achieve outstanding guest service and employee satisfaction outcomes
  • Monitor food production, ordering, costs, and quality to ensure financial performance and control
  • Ensure the safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment
  • Organize and conduct departmental meetings, training sessions, and goal-setting activities
Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive knowledge and skills in all kitchen operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in training, financial oversight, and customer service
  • Proficient in general computer skills
  • A genuine desire to exceed guest expectations in a dynamic customer service environment
  • Ability to produce consistent results in a timely manner
  • Culinary education and/or relevant on-the-job training and hotel culinary experience
  • Geographic and schedule flexibility preferred
