Position Overview

We are currently seeking an Environmental Risk Assessment Specialist who will play a pivotal role in assessing the environmental impact of our active ingredients and modeling exposure scenarios to support approved usage patterns and contribute to regulatory risk evaluations. This role encompasses the development of scientific strategies to fulfill regulatory requirements and ensuring the preparation of high-quality submission packages to facilitate the maintenance, re-registration, and advancement of crop protection products in North America.

This position offers a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects focused on environmental exposure throughout various phases of pesticide active ingredient development, utilizing extensive scientific knowledge and effective stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Perform ecological and drinking water exposure assessments for regulatory bodies by employing established exposure models for surface and groundwater to support the registration and re-registration of products.
  • Provide strategic support and exposure modeling for risk assessments related to endangered species concerning pesticide active ingredients.
  • Assist in pesticide management initiatives and projects addressing off-target movement and exposure mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the formulation of methodologies, data, and studies pertinent to our products, including analytical techniques and field dissipation studies.
Qualifications

Essential:
  • Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience or a Ph.D. in a relevant field such as environmental science, hydrology, soil science, or environmental engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven track record in preparing and presenting technical information.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex priorities effectively.
  • Proficient in engaging and communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with the environmental fate components of regulatory risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory models utilized in environmental risk assessments and statistical methods applicable in environmental sciences.
  • Experience with off-target movement modeling and field flux assessments.
  • Proficiency in model development and programming languages such as R or Python.
