Position Summary:
We are looking for an Environmental Exposure Assessment Specialist who will focus on assessing the environmental behavior of our active ingredients and modeling exposure to support approved usage patterns. This role is crucial in developing scientific strategies to comply with regulatory requirements and ensuring the preparation of high-quality submission packages for the maintenance, re-registration, and development of crop protection products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee environmental exposure initiatives throughout various phases of pesticide active ingredient development, utilizing extensive scientific knowledge and strong stakeholder management capabilities.
- Perform ecological and drinking water exposure evaluations for regulatory bodies by employing exposure models for surface and groundwater to facilitate new and existing product registrations.
- Provide strategic and exposure modeling assistance for risk assessments concerning endangered species related to pesticide active ingredients.
- Support pesticide management initiatives and projects that address off-target movement and exposure mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to the formulation of methodologies, data, and studies pertinent to our products, including analytical techniques and field dissipation studies.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience or a Ph.D. in a relevant field such as environmental science, hydrology, soil science, or environmental chemistry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven track record in preparing and presenting technical information.
- Capability to plan, organize, adapt, and develop technical expertise in areas beyond primary specialization.
- Ability to manage multiple complex priorities while ensuring timely delivery.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the environmental fate components of regulatory risk assessments.
- Knowledge of regulatory models used in environmental risk assessments and statistical methodologies applicable in environmental sciences.
- Experience with off-target movement modeling and field flux assessments.
- Proficiency in model development and programming languages such as R or Python.
