Sales Engineering Specialist

Objective:
The Technical Sales Consultant is responsible for overseeing bid lists, acquiring plans and specifications, generating take-offs and project estimates, providing technical sales assistance to the Outside Sales team and associated contractors, and managing projects to achieve profit objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project plans and specifications to identify specific products and services to be included in a binding estimate according to established protocols.
- Request special quotations from manufacturers as necessary for products while ensuring competitive pricing and maximizing gross margins.
- Coordinate prior approval requests with the engineering services team.
- Update the job tracking system with relevant information, including design basis data, quote values, and more.
- Prepare comprehensive and precise engineering submittals for ordered products.
- Address application and technical inquiries as well as general customer service questions from mechanical contractors.
- Generate and process orders to manufacturers for products supplied on awarded projects.
- Oversee logistics to guarantee timely delivery of products to job sites.
- Ensure proper margin levels and job accuracy for correct billing of projects.
- Collaborate with the Outside Sales Force, keeping them informed about product availability, shipping timelines, and overall project status.
- Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Ensure reliable attendance and availability.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree is preferred or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in commercial HVAC project management is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, with the ability to learn job-specific software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Travel Requirements:
- 5% travel to branches and other operational companies, including potential overnight stays, as well as travel to industry-related conferences and training sessions requiring extended stays.
