Café Support Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

GeorgiaGov is looking for a Café Support Specialist (Part-Time) to assist with all responsibilities related to the opening of the Café. The role encompasses various duties that ensure smooth operations during service hours.

Key Responsibilities:

· Aid in food preparation, manage cash registers, operate the point of sale system, and provide customer assistance during the Café's opening hours.

· Serve food items during designated meal times in accordance with established procedures;

· Assist in meal preparation for on-campus events as needed;

· Ensure accuracy in cash register transactions and perform cash balancing;

· Support inventory management tasks.

· Adhere to food safety protocols to maintain the health and safety of patrons;

· Operate and maintain food service equipment efficiently;

· Help in stocking shelves, freezers, and coolers as new supplies arrive;

· Operate dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize kitchenware, and maintain cleanliness of tables and dining areas;

· Perform cashier duties, including processing payments and providing change to customers, as well as operating credit/debit card machines.

Work Schedule: 7 AM to 2:15 PM

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· At least one year of experience in food service

· High school diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

ServSafe Certification Experience in retail sales, marketing, and customer service Understanding of basic food safety practices for food preparation and service Knowledge of personal hygiene standards Familiarity with proper cleaning methods and chemical usage Proficiency in cash register operations

Compensation and Benefits

Salary is competitive and based on education and experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package. Employment is contingent upon funding.
