Head of Risk Management Operations

Full-time, Exempt position

The Head of Risk Management Operations is tasked with ensuring the effective execution of patient safety and risk management initiatives. Key duties include:
  • Overseeing claim management processes, including thorough investigation and analysis.
  • Conducting risk assessments for new services and initiatives.
  • Performing root cause analyses and tracking action plans.
  • Leading the Patient Safety Council and integrating corporate risk management programs.
  • Collaborating with department leaders and the executive team to implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Providing expertise in regulatory compliance and standards.
  • Engaging in data analysis, reporting, and educational initiatives.
  • Exercising leadership and accountability in all related activities.

Qualifications:

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • Master's degree in a related discipline is preferred.
  • Five to seven years of clinical experience in risk management.
  • A minimum of three years in a leadership role within risk management, preferably in an acute care setting.
  • Certification as a Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) is preferred.
  • State licensure in the relevant specialty.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) designation is preferred.
