Location Description:

We are excited to be reopening Wayfinder Hotel Newport, a boutique hotel created by a group of local entrepreneurs who are passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences. Our hotel boasts 187 rooms, a restaurant, and 2600 sq ft of event space.

Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and creative Sous Chef to join our Culinary team. This individual must have extensive experience working in a high-volume professional kitchen and a college degree in the culinary arts.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated and passionate leader who can create innovative menus that reflect seasonal availability. They will be responsible for planning and executing daily production, preparation, and presentation of all food in a safe and sanitary work environment.

Your Role:

As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in daily ordering, menu planning, and budget management. You will also be responsible for conducting daily walk-throughs, leading team meetings, and attending F&B meetings.

You will be expected to manage the finances of the department, analyze costs, and control expenses to achieve a profitable operation. You will also be responsible for guiding the nightly cleaning of all kitchen areas and ensuring that prep sheets are updated and properly used.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a luxury hotel or upscale restaurant is required. A culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred. You must have excellent knowledge of culinary trends, techniques, and ingredients.

You will be expected to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and maintain a high level of quality and attention to detail.

Compensation Range:

The compensation for this position is $23.00/Hr. - $28.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
