Lead Accountant, Portfolio Management

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Consultative Search Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the financial records of our open-end funds and separate accounts, as well as providing financial reporting to clients and the portfolio group.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee the monthly closing process for the portfolios, including reconciling portfolio data and calculating management fees and the accrual of expenses.
- Financial Review and Analysis: Review the reconciliations and other work performed by offshore service providers, as well as quarterly and annual financial statements prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with key financial reporting controls and ensure that evidentiary matter is appropriately documented to comply with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Financial Audit and Reporting: Coordinate the interim and annual financial statement audit fieldwork with the external auditors, as well as review calculations of fund and client-specific performance.
- Ad-Hoc Requests and Projects: Review and/or assist in the preparation of a variety of ad-hoc requests from client services and the investment team, as well as oversee fund-related efficiency and automation projects.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years' relevant accounting or audit experience within Big 4 public accounting or a mix of public accounting and investment management industry experience.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis, excellent understanding of accounting and the ability to apply relevant investment company accounting rules, solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with experience with Geneva and/or Geneva World Investor accounting systems and/or PowerBI, Alteryx, or other data analytical tools a plus.
- Self-Motivation and Attention to Detail: Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and excellent work ethic.
- Organizational Skills: Great organizational skills and ability to prioritize and handle complicated work efficiently and effectively.
- Communication Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively both individually and as a team.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with CPA a plus.
