Role Scope

The Business Solutions Architect plays a pivotal role in the strategic design and planning of tailored solutions for our clientele. This position leads the initiative to craft optimal solutions that align with customer requirements. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to communicate effectively in both technical terms with developers and in business language with clients to ensure successful outcomes.

This role collaborates closely with the Regional Leadership Teams to articulate how solutions can be implemented, detailing the products, frameworks, APIs, and services necessary, along with the associated costs, timelines, and efforts involved. The Business Solutions Architect will direct the selection of technologies and outline the development phases that the implementation team will follow, ensuring a profitable solution that meets client needs.

As a member of the Solutions Team, this individual will be responsible for executing agreed-upon business strategies and processes, offering technical guidance to regional management, and significantly contributing to the effective operation of the Region in both strategic and operational aspects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Solutions Business Managers and Regional Sales Engineering to formulate technical concepts that address customer challenges, utilizing available tools - Tait and third-party products, software, and services.
  • Maintain proximity to clients and global offices.
  • Engage with Solutions Business Managers and pre-sales engineering teams to resolve customer issues.
  • Work alongside Global Product Management, Development, and Partnering teams to tackle market challenges.
  • Coordinate with Delivery Teams to create scalable solutions and products.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions to generate potential solutions for business challenges.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Prepare and document testing specifications.
  • Leverage Tait resources (e.g., IT) to support business objectives.
  • Provide specialized knowledge in technologies relevant to one or more of our vertical markets, such as Mission Critical Push To Talk for Public Safety, Intelligent Transport Systems, and SCADA Management Systems for Utilities.
  • Promote software and services throughout the organization.
  • Guide clients in developing their technology choices.
  • Educate the organization on applying technology to our selected markets and clients.
  • Facilitate customer upselling by addressing additional technical challenges within existing accounts.
  • Construct and contribute to compelling business cases for both internal and external investments.

  • Enhance customer problem awareness within Tait.
  • Strengthen Tait's capability to propose business solutions incorporating Tait and third-party products, software, and services.
  • Enable the replication of successful solutions globally.
  • Establish long-term strategic relationships.
  • Influence customer solution directions.
  • Develop existing long-term strategic relationships, converting them into Tait solutions clients.
  • Shape product strategy to align with customer solution requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; must effectively convey concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to swiftly research and comprehend key points in related technology areas to better understand the customer's problem domain.
  • Analyze, document, and summarize the customer's:
    • Technology environment
    • Business processes
    • Technical requirements
  • Facilitate creative collaboration with both customers and internal teams.
  • Influence customer technology direction.
  • Guide internal technology direction.
  • Identify and enable technology partnership opportunities to address customer challenges.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business or a related field.
  • Experience in one or more relevant verticals - Public Safety, Utilities, Transportation, and Mining.
  • Knowledge of communications and related technologies that Tait is integrating with: Cloud, 3GPP technologies, Web technologies, WiMAX, LoRA, Wi-Fi.
  • Understanding of Cyber Security for Critical Infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with ITIL Service Management and delivery concepts.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar or related role.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
