Position Overview:


The Global Infrastructure Solutions Architect plays a pivotal role in the design, execution, and upkeep of Smith & Associates' IT infrastructure, encompassing its worldwide server, networking, and telecommunications systems. This position is crucial for ensuring adherence to contemporary best practices in the industry.

Outstanding analytical capabilities are essential for diagnosing issues and delivering a secure and reliable infrastructure that underpins the global business operations.

This includes performing comprehensive system and network assessments to pinpoint the most suitable technologies that align with organizational objectives. The Global Infrastructure Solutions Architect guarantees the smooth integration of technology to support corporate goals and improve operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the complete infrastructure architecture, systems evaluation, and security for both on-premises data centers and cloud platforms.

Assess existing systems, explore new technologies, and propose alternative solutions and enhancements.

Administer and sustain server resources for the global IT infrastructure.

Supervise and maintain the architectural design of the company's global infrastructure, collaborating with team leads for implementation.

Drive continuous enhancement of server and network systems by monitoring and assessing technological approaches.

Collaborate with server and network teams to maintain and strategize future planning, evaluating change plans for both short and long-term objectives.

Engage in change control, production acceptance, and event management processes.

Manage global server capacity and provide utilization statistics for effective capacity planning.

Execute installations and configurations of various virtualization technologies and operating systems (e.g., VMware, ESX, Windows, Linux, etc.).

Communicate, validate, and guide the short and long-term architectural strategy for the overall IT project portfolio across IT teams, conducting comprehensive technical design planning.

Participate in proof of concepts to help define technology direction and facilitate business strategy.

Formulate long-term strategies for historical data retention and archival solutions.

Establish enterprise standards to ensure compatibility and integration across multiple vendor platforms.

Design infrastructure for the implementation of new solutions.

Conduct impact analysis and design modifications to existing systems to accommodate new solutions.

Collaborate with Project Managers and technical directors to provide estimates, develop comprehensive implementation plans, and lead the installation, customization, deployment, and integration efforts.

Perform related duties as necessary.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Certification in Cloud Platforms such as AWS or Azure.

Familiarity with Technology Enterprise architectures that encompass diverse hardware and software environments, including complex heterogeneous systems; knowledge of Computer and Network system design such as VMware, Active Directory, Azure AD, and AWS.

Proficient in developing and presenting comprehensive architectural solutions.

Strong analytical planning and organizational/time management skills.

Ability to articulate and communicate ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing, in a manner that is appropriate for technical and management audiences.

Capacity to collaborate with individuals from all departments within the organization, regardless of their level of technical knowledge.

A minimum of 5 years' experience in a server or network management role, overseeing a hybrid server environment within a Cisco network.

At least 5 years of experience in global network design and implementation.

Exceptional analytical skills; a total of 10 years of relevant experience and education as a manager or technical architect within an Infrastructure team with a global infrastructure setup.


Education:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.

Experience:


A minimum of eight years of experience as a Global Infrastructure Architect or in a similar role, including resource and project management.
