We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources Specialist to join our team at BCForward. As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for managing the staffing requisition/job posting process, managing candidate pools, and conducting quality assurance reviews of all hiring recommendations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the staffing requisition/job posting process on the state internal hiring system, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage candidate pools, vetting recommended candidates and submitting selected applicants for background checks.
- Recommend salaries for approval, following state guidelines or bargaining unit contracts.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of all hiring recommendations to ensure procedural compliance.
- Conduct internal projects and information requests, analyzing personnel information and preparing findings and recommendations.
- Provide quality customer service to employees, conducting research and providing accurate responses.
- Maintain confidentiality of personnel information, adhering to the DOR's Confidentiality Policy.
- Write internal and external communications, drafting letters, instructions, forms, and memorandums.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong business writing skills.
- Proficiency in Access, Excel, and Word.
- General knowledge of Human Resource policies and processes in a large organization.
- Ability to analyze and determine the applicability of data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing the state personnel system.
- Knowledge of compensation/salary setting rules and regulations within HR guidelines.
- General knowledge of state and federal benefit and leave policies.
- Human Resources Professional Certification.
