Position Overview:

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Program Coordinator. This role is essential in facilitating the operational functions of the Center for the Study of Tobacco, focusing on communication, community outreach, and database management for grant-funded projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Center Director and faculty in managing daily operations, including travel arrangements and supply procurement.
  • Support budget oversight and ensure adherence to institutional policies and procedures.
  • Implement processes and standard operating procedures efficiently, ensuring compliance with UAMS guidelines.
  • Coordinate logistics for regular research team meetings and collaborate with faculty and staff to manage schedules and activities.
  • Act as the primary contact for the Center, facilitating communication within UAMS and with community partners.
  • Maintain organized records and manage data entry for various programs, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist in the development of educational materials and communications for research initiatives.
  • Participate in training and educational programs to enhance professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant administrative experience, or an Associate's degree with four years of experience, or a High School diploma/GED with six years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new technologies.
