Position Overview:
The Mathematics Support Specialist is responsible for delivering targeted instruction and interventions to students identified as needing assistance in mathematics. This role involves monitoring student progress through both quantitative and qualitative assessments and providing insights for necessary adjustments to instructional strategies.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; Valid Texas teaching certification; Valid Texas ESL certification (preferred).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Familiarity with the Texas Assessment Program, district curriculum, and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills; In-depth understanding of the MTSS framework and district documentation processes; Expertise in intervention strategies and programs aimed at enhancing skill acquisition; Proficient in using technology for documentation, presentation development, and record-keeping; Strong collaborative skills; Ability to follow both verbal and written directives; Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver focused instruction in small group settings using either a push-in or pull-out model to assist students in achieving accelerated progress.

Support classroom teachers in maintaining accurate progress monitoring records and anecdotal notes to effectively assess student development during interventions.

Utilize a variety of assessment tools to identify individual student needs and track their progress throughout the academic year.

Engage in all mandated professional development and district meetings.

The Mathematics Support Specialist is expected to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and instructional strategies to positively influence student achievement.

Collaborate with district content specialists and program directors.

Regularly communicate with school administration regarding student progress.

Pursue opportunities for continuous professional development and growth.

Adhere to and enforce school policies, administrative regulations, and legal requirements.

Perform additional duties related to enhancing student achievement as assigned.
