Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Job Summary:

The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead its financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies, managing budgets, and ensuring the financial stability of the Diocese.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial plans and strategies to achieve the Diocese's goals and objectives.
  • Manage the Diocese's budget, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee the Diocese's financial operations, including accounting, treasury, and risk management.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the Bishop and senior leadership team.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, investors, and auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws.
  • Lead the development of financial policies and procedures.
  • Manage the Diocese's cash flow and investment portfolio.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to the Bishop and senior leadership team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of senior financial leadership experience in a comparable Diocese or complex Catholic nonprofit organization.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing financial strategies that drive growth and stability.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and laws, with the ability to ensure compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a Diocese or complex Catholic nonprofit organization.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field.
