Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial, accounting, and reporting activities for Care Alliance. This includes general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and ensuring accurate recording and reporting of financial information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee financial accounting functions to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial information.
  • Maintain internal control and safeguards for revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Communicate monthly and annual financial statements to the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Coordinate accounting functions, reports, data, and programs.
  • Prepare financial analyses and reports.
  • Prepare revenue projections and forecasting expenditures.
  • Assist with preparing and monitoring budgets, maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with annual audit preparations.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Complete general ledger and month-end closing.
  • Work on the annual budgeting and planning process.
  • Administer and review financial plans and compare actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
  • Support the Chief Financial Officer in engaging the board's audit and finance committees around issues and trends in financial operating models and delivery.
  • Oversee financial, project/program, and grants accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period.
  • Organize financial reporting materials for government, corporate, and foundation grants.
  • Work on organizational cash flow forecasting.
  • Work in partnership with the Chief Financial Officer to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.
  • Direct the preparation of statistical information and reports for management, government, and other agencies.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight and supervision to the Finance Department staff to assure efficiency and effectiveness and provide professional growth opportunities where possible.
  • Attend meetings with management and department staff to review and discuss financial matters.
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
