POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for addressing the transportation and ownership requirements of retail clients. Engages in the sale of both new and pre-owned vehicles, along with accessories and other dealership-approved auto-related products. Aids in generating acquisitions of used vehicles for resale in our pre-owned inventory and guides customers throughout their ownership journey.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Employs professional sales techniques, both verbal and written, which encompass face-to-face interactions, effective telephone communication, and written correspondence with clients.

2. Diligently logs all prospects, leads, lost sales, and follow-up actions in the dealership management system (DMS). Proactively engages with prospects until a sale is finalized. Keeps management informed about deal progress and seeks assistance when necessary to secure the sale.

3. Welcomes customers promptly and professionally, ensuring they receive full attention. Identifies vehicle preferences and requirements, including trade-in considerations, decision-makers, and intended usage locations.

4. Introduces the sales supervisor before finalizing the deal to familiarize the customer with key personnel assisting in their purchase, thereby enhancing the likelihood of closing the sale.

5. Conducts a trade assessment with the customer present to establish a fair value for the trade-in vehicle based on its condition, service history, and market trends.

6. Maintains current knowledge of various vehicle models, optional features, and accessories. Clearly articulates the advantages and functionalities of different models and equipment.

7. Demonstrates vehicle operation during test drives and recommends additional features and accessories based on customer preferences and budget.

8. Possesses knowledge of trailering terminology, payload capacities, and cargo dimensions, particularly for trucks and vans.

9. Clarifies vehicle warranty details and distinguishes between warranties and service agreements, explaining their complementary benefits. Discusses how aftermarket modifications may impact warranty coverage.

10. Informs customers about new owner advantages, including online resources, complimentary maintenance, loyalty programs, and specialized services.

11. Educates customers on the manufacturer's recall process, identifying affected vehicles, and the dealership's role in addressing repairs.

12. Describes the certified pre-owned vehicle inspection process and the associated warranty and certification benefits.

13. Explains the Monroney window label and the Federal Buyers Guide label, including various warranty designations.

14. Must be able to articulate general financing options, including leasing terms and conditions.

15. Adheres to the approved pricing process for vehicle purchases, trade-ins, and sales, ensuring clarity on all terms presented in the Buyers Order or lease quotation.

16. Processes down payments, ensuring proper documentation and receipts are issued.

17. Secures customer signatures on credit applications prior to submission for credit history checks.

18. Promotes the dealership's maintenance and service agreements, along with the benefits of utilizing dealership services.

19. Coordinates vehicle delivery, ensuring pre-delivery inspections and necessary preparations are completed.

20. Provides a comprehensive vehicle operation demonstration and assists customers in personalizing their vehicle settings upon delivery.

21. Addresses any additional customer requests for vehicle modifications or repairs by involving the supervisor.

22. Utilizes the owner's manual and warranty booklet to familiarize the owner with vehicle maintenance schedules and included services.

23. Conducts a dealership orientation tour for new owners, introducing them to various departments and services offered.

24. Collaborates with new owners to schedule their first service appointment and explains the dealership's appointment reminder process.

25. Must be knowledgeable about GM service and parts warranties and the benefits of using GM and ACDelco parts.

26. Handles customer complaints effectively, ensuring commitments to customer satisfaction are met, which fosters loyalty and repeat business.

27. Remains informed about and complies with all laws related to automobile sales and consumer information confidentiality.

28. Assists in maintaining the dealership's display and facility, ensuring a clean and organized environment.

29. Keeps all personal and shared areas tidy and presentable.

30. Maintains security of passwords, codes, and keys.

31. Directs all business transactions through the dealership, ensuring compliance with company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To successfully perform this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience or training is preferred.

- Strong language skills for effective communication.

- Basic mathematical skills for financial calculations.

- Reasonable problem-solving abilities.

- Proficiency in using computer systems and contact management software.

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish are advantageous.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The role requires frequent walking, talking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
