Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant III to join our Fine Arts Department at Barry University. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Chair, Assistant to the Chair, and faculty members, ensuring the smooth operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general office management and support, including responding to phone calls, handling correspondence, and maintaining files.
  • Assist with personnel files, data entry, and paperwork processing.
  • Coordinate departmental courses through AIS and prepare Dean's and President's lists.
  • Serve as liaison to Facilities Management, Conference & Event Services, Marketing, DoIT, and AIS.
  • Help maintain the Music programs inventory and loaner system for instruments.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Fine Arts Department, including communicating information clearly and efficiently.
  • Take minutes for departmental meetings and assist faculty with paperwork during the advising process.
  • Manage the office facilities, including serving as liaison to Facilities Management and maintaining a monthly report documenting facilities-related issues.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of previous work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Expert written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to perform advanced clerical and administrative support duties.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
