Position Overview:

The Human Resources Division at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is in search of a dedicated Benefits & Global Mobility Coordinator. This full-time role is designed to manage employee benefits, relocation, repatriation, and support for expatriates and inpatriates within a dynamic environment. The position is a two-year, full-time, exempt, renewable appointment based at IFPRI's headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

Benefits Management
  • Act as the primary contact for employees regarding health and welfare insurance benefits and transit programs, overseeing enrollments, modifications, and terminations.
  • Facilitate benefits deduction changes in CostPoint, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared.
  • Maintain vendor-managed benefit portals to accurately reflect staff enrollment changes.
  • Monitor retirement plan eligibility and collaborate with payroll to process notices and track enrollments.
  • Prepare COBRA notifications for terminating employees.
  • Assist the Compensation & Benefits Manager with benefit-related tasks as required.
  • Organize Benefits team events, including the Annual RISE event and employee service awards.
Global Mobility Coordination
  • Oversee all aspects of the relocation process, including initiation, tracking, and monitoring of relocations and benefits, while liaising with vendors on tax, immigration, and relocation matters.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employees regarding relocation and expatriate benefits.
  • Collaborate with field office HR representatives and employees to facilitate visa and work permit applications.
  • Administer relocation and expatriate allowances, including calculations for cost of living adjustments, housing reviews, and dependent education.
  • Review and reconcile relocation and outposted benefits expense reports for compliance and accuracy.
  • Conduct quarterly audits of outposted allowance accounts.
  • Work with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, enhancing service levels.
  • Regularly engage with expatriate and inpatriate staff to gather feedback for improving global mobility services.
  • Research and propose cost-effective and compliant solutions to support employee mobility, leveraging new technologies and industry standards.
  • Provide country-specific information and reports as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience or 3-5 years of administrative experience in a fast-paced HR environment, preferably within an international organization.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with employees, providing HR-related information and support.
  • Strong judgment and confidentiality skills.
  • Excellent proficiency in English, both oral and written.
  • Proactive HR delivery with a strong service orientation.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of an HR team, with a willingness to cross-train.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
  • Familiarity with US federal and state employment laws is advantageous.
Preferred Skills
  • Proficiency in French.
  • Certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or GPHR.
  • Experience with HR information systems and/or CostPoint is a plus.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment
  • Position requires prolonged periods of sitting with limited opportunity for movement.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Close visual acuity is necessary for tasks such as data analysis and extensive reading.
  • Hybrid work schedule is in place, with three days in the office and two days remote.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $55,600 and $68,100, commensurate with experience and other job-related factors. IFPRI offers a comprehensive benefits package to enhance the overall employee experience.
