Position Overview

In an effort to position the World Bank Group as a premier employer and a leader in the development sector, the Human Resources Vice-Presidency has restructured its service delivery model into several key areas:

  • A Client Services Department that implements a comprehensive staffing model and supports the execution of HR strategies and processes. Each organization within the Bank and the IFC will be backed by a dedicated Client Services Department.
  • An Employment Policy, Compensation, and Systems Department that offers a cohesive approach to managing employment policies and staff regulations, driving compensation and benefits programs, and providing service solutions, systems, and analytics.
  • A Performance, Career, and Learning Department that integrates the entire talent management lifecycle to enhance the WBG's organizational and individual performance and capabilities through innovative solutions and strategies.


Within the Client Services function, the Strategy and Global Mobility unit is in search of a Global Mobility Specialist to enhance GM Services delivery at headquarters, serve as the primary relocation contact, coordinate settling-in support and initiatives, assist in quality control and audit processes, utilize a data-driven approach for service evaluation and enhancement, and contribute to Diversity & Inclusion and Environmental, Social, and Governance initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalized and attentive support to eligible new hires and their families, addressing their specific needs and expectations throughout the relocation process.
  • Act as a technical advisor on comprehensive GM Services delivery at headquarters, including return processes.
  • Oversee the case workload at headquarters, engaging directly with clients and providing guidance and quality control for GM Assistants in their support roles.
  • Collaborate with the GM Technical Specialist to develop and implement the GM Services Audit System.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce innovative offerings that enhance the relocation and settling-in experience for staff and their families.
  • Work closely with GM Team Leads to address unique cases, escalations, and policy exceptions, providing expertise on policy change implementation.
  • Foster strong partnerships with other units within the WBG to enhance GM support services at headquarters and in the regions, including collaboration with Budget/Finance, Travel, Payroll, Corporate Security, and more.
  • Partner with the GM Data Analyst to continuously assess GM services delivery and impact by analyzing reports and survey findings, identifying key trends and areas for improvement.
  • Promote and implement inclusive practices within global mobility processes, ensuring that the diverse needs of assignees are met while integrating ESG principles for sustainable practices.
  • Contribute to various projects and initiatives aimed at process optimization and automation through digital transformation.
  • Liaise with external vendors as necessary.
  • Engage in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Selection Criteria:

  • Master’s degree in business, management, HR, logistics, or a related field, with 5 years of client/service delivery experience, or equivalent education and relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in the international relocation sector or global mobility services is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of WBG mobility policies and benefits.
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation to inform decision-making.
  • Familiarity with data management tools and techniques.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish.
  • Capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
  • Commitment to understanding and fulfilling client needs.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a focus on developing innovative solutions.
