Role Responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-focused care and overseeing all unit functions during assigned shifts. Collaborating with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in line with established protocols, serving as a resource for staff and embodying the organization's mission and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Facilitating admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
  • Engaging in ongoing assessments of patient care quality in collaboration with management.
  • Fostering teamwork among staff to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
  • Promoting a patient-first approach and engaging in service recovery as needed.
  • Implementing nursing strategies to improve staff engagement and operational efficiency.
  • Contributing to the recruitment, training, and development of new staff members.
  • Managing staff schedules and ensuring compliance with productivity standards.
  • Overseeing inventory control and supply management.

Qualifications Required:

Licensure/Certification:

Mandatory:

  • Current RN licensure in Texas or a compact state.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • CCRN certification.

Preferred:

  • NPR certification.
  • TNCC certification.

Education:

Required:

  • Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN.

Experience:

Preferred:

  • 1-2 years of experience in critical care.

Skills and Abilities:

Preferred:

  • Basic English reading and writing skills for effective communication.
  • Knowledge of body substance isolation protocols.
  • Ability to empathize and respond to the needs of patients and families.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience in acute care settings.
