Role Responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-focused care and overseeing all operational functions within the unit during assigned shifts. Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating patient admissions and discharges to optimize care delivery.
  • Evaluating the quality of nursing services in collaboration with management.
  • Fostering a collaborative environment to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Promoting a patient-centered approach and addressing service recovery needs.
  • Implementing nursing strategies to boost staff engagement and operational efficiency.
  • Assisting in the recruitment, training, and development of nursing staff.
  • Managing staff schedules in alignment with patient care requirements.
  • Overseeing inventory management and supply procurement.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification:

Required:

  • Current RN licensure in Texas or a compact state.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • CCRN certification.

Preferred:

  • NPR certification.
  • TNCC certification.

Education:

Required: Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN.

Experience:

Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in critical care settings.

Skills and Abilities:

Preferred:

  • Basic proficiency in English with the ability to interpret physician orders.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and families.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Experience in acute care environments.
