Role Responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and overseeing all functions within the unit during assigned shifts. Collaborating with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in line with established protocols, serving as a resource for staff and exemplifying the organization's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates admission and discharge processes to optimize patient flow and care quality.
  • Engages in continuous assessment of patient care quality in collaboration with management.
  • Fosters teamwork among staff to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
  • Champions a patient-first approach and addresses service recovery when needed.
  • Implements nursing strategies to improve staff engagement and operational efficiency.
  • Participates in the recruitment, training, and development of new nursing staff.
  • Oversees staff scheduling and manages labor in accordance with patient care requirements.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory control and managing medical supplies and equipment.

Qualifications Required:

Licensure/Certification:

Mandatory:

  • Current RN licensure in Texas or a compact state.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • CCRN certification.

Preferred:

  • NPR certification.
  • TNCC certification.

Education:

Required: Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN.

Experience:

Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in critical care settings.

Skills and Abilities:

Preferred: Proficiency in basic English, knowledge of body substance isolation, and the ability to empathize with patients and families. Bilingual in English/Spanish is advantageous.
