Senior General Liability Claims Adjuster

Position Overview:

Role Summary:

The Senior General Liability Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigating, assessing, and resolving complex claims with minimal oversight. This role involves determining coverage, liability, and damages while establishing appropriate reserves. Professionals in this position typically possess authority to manage claims reserves and settlements up to $10,000 for liability and/or $25,000 for workers' compensation or more.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize sound judgment and decision-making skills to evaluate claims exposure and determine the best course of action for settlement.
  2. Engage extensively with all parties involved in the claims process to facilitate resolution.
  3. Communicate clearly and effectively, presenting actionable plans to move cases toward resolution.
  4. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the claims file process, providing clear responses to client inquiries.
  5. Process claims in alignment with client and corporate policies, as well as statutory and ethical standards.
  6. Adhere to carrier reporting and threshold requirements diligently.
  7. Identify and pursue opportunities for excess insurance recoveries, managing a full caseload with proven capability in handling high-severity cases.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant claims experience.
  • Proper licensing and/or certification in all applicable states.
  • Extensive understanding of industry standards and practices.
  • Proficient in claims and business-related software.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

Work Traits:

The ideal candidate will possess critical thinking abilities, problem-solving skills, and the capacity to plan and organize effectively. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing are essential, along with a willingness to embrace new challenges.

Analytical skills are crucial for making informed decisions and resolving complex issues associated with claims management. The ability to negotiate settlements for serious claims and interpret relevant documentation is also necessary.

U.S. Eligibility Requirements:
