Senior General Liability Claims Specialist

Position Overview:

The Senior General Liability Claims Specialist is responsible for investigating, assessing, and resolving complex claims with minimal oversight. This role involves evaluating coverage, liability, and damages, as well as determining appropriate reserves. Professionals in this position typically possess the authority to manage claims reserves and settlements up to $10,000 for liability and/or $25,000 for workers' compensation or more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize sound judgment and decision-making skills to analyze claims exposure and determine the best course of action for claim resolution.
  • Engage extensively with all parties involved in the claims process to facilitate communication and understanding.
  • Effectively articulate clear action plans and strategies to advance cases toward resolution.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the claims file process, providing comprehensive responses to client inquiries.
  • Process claims in accordance with client and corporate policies, industry best practices, and all relevant statutory and ethical guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with carrier reporting and threshold requirements.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for excess insurance recoveries, managing a full caseload with a proven ability to handle high-severity cases.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant claims experience.
  • Appropriate licensing and/or certification in all states where claims are managed.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with proficiency in claims and business software.

Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree.
