Key Responsibilities

As an Automotive Sales Representative, you will sell vehicles by understanding and showcasing their features, capabilities, and specifications while also identifying and qualifying potential buyers and closing sales.

Core Duties

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Gaining knowledge of the Ford product lineup by studying their features and comparing them with competitors.
  • Welcoming and assisting customers who visit the dealership showroom or sales lot.
  • Offering test drives to all interested customers, ensuring proper identification is obtained beforehand.
  • Demonstrating vehicles by explaining their features, capabilities, warranties, and services.
  • Understanding customer needs and building rapport to satisfy their transportation requirements.
  • Explaining vehicle equity and depreciation to customers.
  • Providing quotes and discussing financing options in line with dealership policies.
  • Closing sales by addressing customer objections.
  • Preparing sold vehicles for delivery before customer arrival.
  • Delivering vehicles to customers and ensuring they understand the vehicle's operating features.
  • Introducing customers to the service department and scheduling their first service appointment.
  • Following up on all post-delivery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Engaging with prospective customers and responding to emails and voicemails.
Qualifications

Requirements
  • Ability to read and write, comprehend simple instructions, and understand correspondence and manuals.
  • Professional demeanor and courteous conduct towards all customers.
  • Ability to respond to common customer inquiries or complaints.
  • Basic math skills for calculating discounts, interest, and percentages.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic computer skills.
  • Strong appearance, verbal and written communication skills, along with negotiation and presentation abilities.
Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license that meets dealership insurance requirements.
Experience

The ideal candidate should possess a strong desire to excel. Our automotive sales representatives come from diverse backgrounds and industries. While prior automotive sales experience is not mandatory, experience in providing exceptional customer service and previous sales experience is advantageous.

Physical Requirements

Must be capable of walking the sales lot and showroom for at least 8 hours during a shift, lifting at least 15 pounds occasionally, and performing tasks that require pushing, pulling, and reaching with hands and arms. Must have the ability to see both close and at a distance, drive company vehicles, and type efficiently.
