Key Responsibilities:
Primary Objective of the Role
The selected candidate will engage in sophisticated technical and engineering problem-solving to support the operations of nuclear facilities. This role entails making critical technical decisions and requires a deep understanding of the relevant engineering disciplines and their practical applications, as well as a thorough knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver expert technical guidance to develop, oversee, and execute engineering analyses, initiatives, and programs.
- Engage directly to provide technical expertise and resolve equipment and system challenges.
- Manage engineering tasks and issues with a focus on accuracy and adherence to established design criteria and regulatory standards.
- Conduct independent research and analysis to support various technical projects and programs.
- Propose innovative equipment and techniques to enhance performance, streamline construction, reduce expenses, rectify design flaws, or comply with evolving regulations.
Specific Responsibilities
- Oversee the management and execution of the Asset Management Program across the nuclear fleet, including the preparation of inspection scopes.
- Ensure uniformity in the approach to program inspections across nuclear stations.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for inspection and testing, collaborating with Responsible Engineers to fulfill program requirements.
- Maintain program documentation in line with industry standards and best practices.
- Prepare and present periodic health reports on the program to leadership, addressing industry challenges and regulatory updates.
- Prepare regulatory submissions, including requests for relief to the NRC.
- Lead interactions with regulatory bodies and coordinate responses to findings.
- Conduct self-assessments of the program at nuclear sites.
- Participate in industry forums and review operational experiences for program impact.
- Coordinate with Level III NDEs to facilitate program implementation during outages.
Compensation Structure:
Salary ranges based on experience are as follows:
- Entry Level: $72K - $80K
- Mid-Level: $88,200 - $108,000
- Senior Level: $115,200 - $141,000
Minimum Qualifications:
Entry Level Engineer (E01)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Mid-Level Engineer (E02)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of nuclear or related engineering experience.
Senior Engineer (E03)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Professional Engineer license with at least 5 years of engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer Registration.
- Advanced technical degree or relevant coursework.
- Project Management Professional certification.
- Experience with ASME Section XI and BWR Vessel and Internals Programs.
- Certifications or experience in NDE methods.
Licenses and Certifications:
The ideal candidate will have completed specialized training in their area of expertise through recognized industry organizations. Experience with regulatory requirements and effective communication skills for engaging with management and stakeholders is essential.
