Position Overview: Join Merlin Labs as a key player in a role that emphasizes hands-on development, integration, and testing in the aerospace technology sector.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and implement the development, integration, and testing of avionics systems for aircraft autonomy.
- Evaluate, integrate, and validate Commercial/Modified-Off-the-Shelf (COTS/MOTS) electronic subsystems.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with requirements, budget constraints, and timelines.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for electrical systems, including test plans and design verification documents.
- Provide mentorship to electrical engineers and technicians regarding system architecture and schematics.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% for hardware integration support at various locations.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in electrical systems integration design within the aviation or aerospace industry.
- Expertise in the integration and testing of complex systems and components.
- Experience in supplier engagement, procurement processes, and COTS/MOTS modules.
- Familiarity with standard interface protocols and laboratory testing equipment.
- Skills in wire harness design, connector component selection, and analytical problem-solving.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft avionics, communication systems, and power systems.
- Understanding of qualification and regulatory standards applicable to aircraft.
- Hands-on experience with electromechanical tasks and systems design tools.
