Role Summary

Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Systems Safety Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Lunar Transportation business unit, you will be responsible for developing and implementing systems safety products across our lunar vehicle product lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Hazard Reports, reliability analysis, and developing mitigation plans.
  • Support engineering teams in identifying areas of opportunity for design improvements, minimizing risk to people and property, and increasing the probability of mission success.
  • Participate in gated reviews to communicate safety and reliability analyses.
  • Apply a variety of technical principles and tools in Systems Engineering such as CONOPs development, requirements analysis, and interface definition.

Requirements

  • 3+ years related technical experience
  • B.S. in Engineering or related technical subject area
  • Experience performing system safety and/or reliability analyses on satellites or human-rated in space systems
  • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) using PTC or Saphire, Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA)
