About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Systems Safety Engineer ll to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Lunar Transportation business unit, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing systems safety products across our lunar vehicle product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Hazard Reports, reliability analysis, and developing mitigation plans
  • Support engineering teams in identifying areas of opportunity for design improvements, minimizing risk to people and property, and increasing the probability of mission success
  • Participate in gated reviews to communicate safety and reliability analyses
  • Apply a variety of technical principles and tools in Systems Engineering such as CONOPs development, requirements analysis, and interface definition

Requirements:

  • 3+ years related technical experience
  • B.S. in Engineering or related technical subject area
  • Experience performing system safety and/or reliability analyses on satellites or human-rated in space systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with systems engineering principles, design, and testing of complex systems
  • Proven ability to build processes necessary to get things done with minimal direction
  • Experience with certification of human-rated space systems

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary range: $88,440.00-$123,816.00 (CO applicants), $96,480.00-$135,072.00 (WA applicants)
  • Relocation provided
  • Occasional travel up to 25% of the time
  • 1st Shift: 8am - 5pm
