Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Engineer to join our New Shepard program team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing the flight control and actuated systems of our reusable launch vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the entire design cycle, including system architecture, requirements derivation, conceptual and detailed design, system performance modeling, structural analysis, manufacturing and integration support, development testing, and qualification.
  • Define component groups, including design, specification, procurement, processing, testing, and discrepancy resolution of specific components.
  • Identify and implement design changes to improve system reliability and reduce operational cost.
  • Participate in verification audits of existing components and subsystems.
  • Participate in component and subsystem level testing, including planning, execution, data reduction, and analysis.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in aerospace development or similar industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in aerospace or related industry in two or more of the following areas: servo controlled hydraulic actuation, electro-mechanical actuation, mechanisms to deploy, lock, position, or similar application for high-reliability systems, common aerospace structural materials and surface treatments, high-pressure fluid fittings, static seals, and dynamic actuator seals, hydraulic and fluid systems modeling and analysis, aerospace systems engineering principles and processes including requirements derivation, and verification planning and execution.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD programs such as NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, Pro/E, etc.
  • Experience in analysis including hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Experience with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of experience in aerospace development or similar industries.
  • M.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Proficiency with Creo, Windchill, and Ansys.
  • Test instrumentation and data acquisition experience.
  • Hands-on experience with machining, building, and maintaining pressurized or mechanical systems.
  • Experience with launch vehicle, aircraft, or spacecraft manufacturing and integration.
