Job Description

Job Summary:

The Convention Services Manager is responsible for the successful execution of all conventions and events held at the Shaner Hotel Group. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute all aspects of conventions and events, including room setup, catering, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, and ensure that their events are executed to their satisfaction.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of event details, including timelines, budgets, and vendor information.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to promote the hotel's convention services and develop new business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the overall quality of convention services and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Train and supervise convention services staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional service to clients.
  • Monitor and control event budgets to ensure that they are within established guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure that they are providing high-quality services and products.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in convention services, sales, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of convention services software and technology.

Working Conditions:

The Convention Services Manager will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and multiple priorities. The role requires the ability to work effectively in a team environment and to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
