Position Summary:
The full-time faculty member in the Associate Degree Nursing program will play a crucial role in educating and guiding nursing students. Responsibilities include:

  • Engaging in curriculum development and program assessment.
  • Providing mentorship and academic support to students.
  • Participating in departmental and institutional service activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with fellow faculty to create an inclusive and effective learning environment that enhances student success.
  • Contribute to the design, execution, and evaluation of the nursing curriculum.
  • Assist in the scheduling of courses and the establishment of nursing program policies.
  • Design and deliver educational experiences aligned with program objectives.
  • Implement innovative teaching methodologies to cater to a diverse student body, utilizing technology and interactive formats.
  • Guide students in utilizing educational resources effectively.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of courses and programs as required by accreditation standards.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and collaborative course team discussions.
  • Support the assessment and development of testing materials in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Oversee students during clinical practice, ensuring adherence to patient care standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
  • Provide mentorship to new faculty members as necessary.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Faculty schedules may vary each semester, with clinical assignments subject to agency availability.
  • Engage in professional development and maintain competence in the field.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and clinical staff.
  • Participate in college committees and meetings as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Nursing or higher.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Texas.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Ability to lift at least twenty-five pounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Availability for evening and weekend work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in teaching nursing at the postsecondary level.
