Nature-Based Learning Specialist

We are seeking an individual to foster experiential nature-based learning for campers at Stony Brook Nature Camp. As a Nature-Based Learning Specialist, you will promote positive youth development, stewardship for the environment, and a respectful and inclusive safe space for all campers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist a lead/senior counselor with daily lesson planning, including age-appropriate nature lessons, games, and crafts.
- Model appropriate behavior and use effective behavior management techniques.
- Lead songs and games for campers.
- Create and maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment for campers.
- Teach at least one session each week.
- Participate in all game activities and camp games, including opening and closing circle.
- Assist in cleanup/organization at the end of each day.
