Role Purpose:

The AmeriCorps Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator is tasked with the vital role of recruiting full-time AmeriCorps members. This position involves engaging in outreach initiatives, building relationships with community partners, and managing digital content to boost recruitment efforts. The Coordinator will oversee the entire selection process for prospective AmeriCorps members, which includes thorough candidate screening, conducting interviews, performing background checks, and making final selections of qualified individuals. Additionally, this role will enhance the organization's social media strategy by generating and curating content that promotes AmeriCorps opportunities, attracts potential applicants, and fortifies the organization's online presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy aimed at increasing enrollment for full-time AmeriCorps members from various regions. This includes managing background checks through Truescreen.
  2. Community Engagement: Organize and participate in informational booths and outreach events, including job fairs and community gatherings. Deliver presentations within correctional facilities to inform potential candidates about AmeriCorps opportunities.
  3. Candidate Management: Serve as the primary contact for applicants, ensuring all enrollment documentation is completed accurately. Maintain organized files and documentation for all candidates.
  4. Interview Process: Conduct interviews with potential candidates, utilizing targeted questions to assess their motivations and qualifications. Ensure compliance with program requirements through thorough screenings and background checks.
  5. Documentation Oversight: Ensure all participant files are complete with necessary eligibility documentation and background checks, emphasizing the importance of meticulous organization and verification.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with the YouthBuild Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator and other team members to facilitate timely intakes and data entry.
  7. Communications: Collaborate with the Development and Marketing teams to review messaging across public platforms and contribute to the social media strategy, enhancing the organization's online visibility.
  8. Self-Audit: Conduct audits of participant and program files prior to enrollment and assist with program audits as needed.
  9. Testing Center Assistance: Support the PearsonVue testing center by verifying tester identities and proctoring exams according to established guidelines.
  10. Administrative Support: Assist with enrollment paperwork and data entry into required databases.
  11. Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework in Business, HR, or Marketing preferred.

Experience: A minimum of two years of service with AmeriCorps or experience in a YouthBuild model, educational setting, or job training program, including customer service experience.

Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Physical Requirements: Ability to engage in various physical activities, including lifting and moving objects, and performing tasks in a controlled office environment.

Work Environment: In-person position with a standard workweek.
