SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Educational Support Specialist is responsible for fostering a secure and encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes the comprehensive growth of every student and staff member through cultural, social, spiritual, physical, and academic experiences. This role aligns with the Bureau of Indian Education's mission to deliver exceptional educational opportunities from early childhood through adulthood, considering the cultural and economic needs of the tribes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist professional educators by performing paraprofessional tasks that may involve specialized knowledge and skills in specific educational areas.
2. Serve as the primary clerical support within the school office, aiding the school administrator with various clerical and administrative tasks according to established protocols.
3. Prepare necessary reports utilizing the student database and maintain student cumulative records, ensuring all files are complete with required documentation.
4. Organize and manage a systematic filing system for school activities, correspondence, and student records.
5. Provide instructional support to students in classroom or office settings as directed by educators.

INDIAN PREFERENCE POLICY:
Preference in hiring is granted to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act of 1934. QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associate's Degree (or higher) or completion of 60 hours of study from an accredited institution.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar role or related field.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Valid State Driver's license is required for positions involving transportation of students or conducting official business.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Good vision and hearing abilities are necessary, along with the capacity to perform normal physical activities associated with the role.
