Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to join our dynamic Transportation Department. The role encompasses various projects, including roadway enhancements, intersection design, ADA compliance, bicycle facility planning, site improvements, and transit facility design, alongside field visits and inspections. The ideal candidate will excel in a collaborative team setting and manage multiple projects efficiently while adhering to deadlines in a hybrid work environment. Strong written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills, along with meticulous attention to detail and organizational abilities, are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project managers to support design initiatives
- Effectively engage in both office and field settings
- Perform basic engineering calculations and quantify project requirements
- Develop design solutions for a range of roadway and transportation projects, including conceptual, preliminary, right-of-way, and final construction documentation
- Supervise entry-level staff and technicians
- Assist in project scheduling and cost estimation
- Understand constructability principles, specification writing, and cost estimation
- Conduct horizontal and vertical alignment designs
- Possess knowledge of roadway design elements, standards, and construction methods
- Independently manage engineering assignments
- 4 to 7 years of experience in highway/roadway design, civil engineering, and transportation
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's degree is advantageous
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification is required
- Familiarity with MicroStation and OpenRoads is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
