Position Overview
AECOM is looking for a Senior Land Surveying Specialist to work under the Director of Geomatics, collaborating with department leaders to oversee and coordinate field and office operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Daily coordination and assignment of personnel to field teams, providing clear instructions based on project requirements.
- Supervising field operations to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations, maintaining professional quality.
- Offering daily support to field teams through various communication methods to gather necessary information and ensure timely responses.
- Monitoring fieldwork to enforce quality control measures and providing immediate feedback to field leads to align with project objectives and budget.
- Playing a crucial role in the quality assurance process.
- Facilitating the successful transfer of field data to the appropriate CAD or BIM teams.
- Maintaining close communication with project managers to address inquiries throughout the project lifecycle, including technical specifications, deadlines, and financial considerations.
- Taking on project leadership roles as necessary, overseeing project processes and CAD tasks.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior staff.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying or a related discipline, along with 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Possession of a Professional Land Surveying license or Land Surveyor in Training designation, with the ability to obtain licensure within one year.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation, and/or OpenRoads.
- Familiarity with ALTA/ACSM land survey policies and field methodologies.
- Working knowledge of ESRI software.
- Experience in all aspects of field topography, data collection, and terrestrial laser scanning techniques.
- Advanced understanding of topographic surveying methods using UAV-based Lidar, with a preference for candidates holding a FAA Part 107 license.
- Project management experience and a basic understanding of financial principles related to project budgets.
