Position Overview

The Civil Engineering Division within AECOM's Transportation Sector is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to join our team. Under the guidance of a Project Engineer, the successful candidate will contribute to a design team focused on a variety of highway projects, including roadway rehabilitation, safety enhancements, and intersection improvements. Responsibilities will encompass aspects such as horizontal and vertical geometry, pavement design, 3D modeling, and traffic control planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting research and site investigations to gather existing data.
  • Performing technical calculations to support project design.
  • Assisting in the development of roadway construction plans and traffic control strategies.
  • Creating 3D models utilizing civil engineering software, including Bentley OpenRoads Designer and Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Contributing to the preparation of technical documentation and project specifications.
  • Executing tasks under supervision while adhering to project budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or eligibility to take it within the next six months.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other civil engineering software (Civil 3D, OpenRoads).
  • Previous internship or work experience with engineering firms, contractors, or transportation agencies involved in highway design and construction.
