Position Overview
The Civil Engineering Division of AECOM's Transportation Sector is currently seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to be based in our office. Under the guidance of a Project Engineer, the selected candidate will contribute to a design team responsible for a variety of highway projects, including roadway upgrades, safety enhancements, and intersection modifications. Key design tasks will encompass horizontal and vertical alignment, pavement engineering, 3D modeling, traffic control, and ADA-compliant designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze existing data, including conducting field investigations.
- Perform technical calculations to support project design.
- Assist in developing plans for roadway construction, intersection grading, and traffic management.
- Create 3D models utilizing civil engineering software such as Bentley OpenRoads Designer or Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Support the preparation of technical documentation and project specifications.
- Execute tasks under supervision while adhering to project budgets and timelines.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Completed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or plan to take it soon.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other civil engineering software (Civil 3D, OpenRoads).
- Prior experience or internships with engineering firms, contractors, or transportation agencies focused on highway design and construction.
