Position: Accounting Specialist

Job Overview:
The Accounting Specialist will be tasked with a range of financial management and bookkeeping responsibilities. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and overseeing monthly billing and general ledger activities. Proficiency in software such as Excel, Sage 50 Accounting, and QuickBooks Online is essential. Candidates should also possess experience in nonprofit organizations, showcasing professionalism, strong communication, organizational, and time management skills. Attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members are crucial.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Accounts Payable
  • Input invoices and collect W9 forms from vendors
  • Develop aging schedules
  • Select invoices for payment processing
  • Issue checks and prepare positive pay files
  • Maintain check registers
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable
  • Reconcile receipt forms with cash and checks
  • Prepare bank deposits and deliver them
  • Record cash and credit card receipts in Excel
  • Review and post receipts to Sage 50 using appropriate GL codes
