Position Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating various types of industrial machinery, including Front-End Loaders, Bobcats, Skid Steers, and Forklifts, to facilitate material handling tasks. This role involves ensuring the proper maintenance of equipment through troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and routine inspections.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy machinery to transport materials to and from designated locations, including loading docks and storage areas.
  • Understand machine loading capacities and schedules to ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials.
  • Utilize protective materials and strapping equipment to secure loads, and dispose of waste materials appropriately after delivery.
  • Report any issues related to materials or transportation to the supervisor.
  • Organize and manage supplies such as drums, skids, and pallets in designated areas.
  • Perform routine servicing of equipment and report any mechanical or electrical issues to the maintenance team.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Experience operating heavy machinery is required.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Understanding of safety principles and practices.
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Capability to climb ladders and stairs throughout the work shift.
  • Vigilance in observing safety conditions while seated for extended periods.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely.
  • Ability to conduct inspections of sites, tools, and equipment.
  • Willingness to report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.

Work Schedule:

  • hth companies operates 24/7, and work hours may vary, with overtime being a common occurrence.

Training Requirements:

  • Completion of OSHA 10-hour training is required within 60 days of employment.
