Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our machinery and vehicles through thorough inspections and maintenance procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle condition by performing inspections and diagnostic evaluations to identify worn or damaged components.
- Ensure equipment readiness by adhering to preventive maintenance schedules, upgrading parts, and managing corrosion control.
- Execute repairs and adjustments on major assemblies and systems, including powertrains, electrical systems, and hydraulic components.
- Conduct alignments and calibrations on various mechanical systems to ensure operational efficiency.
- Validate vehicle performance through test drives and adjustments to controls and systems.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state vehicle regulations by conducting necessary tests and inspections.
- Preserve vehicle aesthetics through cleaning, washing, and painting as needed.
- Document maintenance and repair activities to maintain accurate vehicle records.
- Support shop operations by troubleshooting equipment issues, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance on shop tools.

Qualifications
- A vocational/technical diploma is required, along with a minimum of 4 years of experience in diesel mechanics, specifically in fleet maintenance and repair.
- A valid driver's license is necessary, with insurability for driving non-commercial vehicles.

Working Conditions
This position may require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling. The ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally is necessary, along with the capacity to lift 5 pounds overhead and 10 pounds to waist height. The work environment may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts and elevated noise levels.
