POSITION SUMMARY:
The Printing Equipment Technician will engage in various facets of the Production and Maintenance Department.
This role encompasses involvement with all elements of a printing operation, including press and bindery functions, plate production, and equipment upkeep.
Key responsibilities will involve operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining all machinery, tools, and technologies vital to the department's operations.
Previous mechanical experience is advantageous.REQUIREMENTS:
- Preferred completion of degree coursework
- Consistent and progressive employment history
- Essential mechanical aptitude
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficient computer skills
- Capacity to learn swiftly, accept responsibility, and be accountable
- Adaptable and open to change
- Ability to maintain focus on detail and quality while working efficiently
- Capability to work independently and collaborate within a team
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Physical ability to frequently grasp, lift, and stack bundles weighing up to 35 pounds
- Ability to frequently lift and position roll shafts weighing up to 50 pounds
- Occasional capability to lift and carry 50 pounds over short distances
- Infrequent assistance in the installation and repair of rollers weighing up to 125 pounds
- Ability to stand for the entire duration of the shift
- Pass a color vision assessment
- Ability to lift pallets weighing up to 50 pounds and stack them up to five feet high
- Capability to maneuver drums weighing up to 500 pounds over short distances (e.g., scoot, roll, shove, tip, etc.)
- Willingness to travel via air and surface – valid driver's license required
- This position features a 4-day, 10-hour shift schedule
