Summary:

Gemma Power Systems is actively seeking a dedicated Project Engineering Manager (PEM) to oversee critical engineering initiatives. This role involves a combination of office-based responsibilities and on-site project management, focusing on large-scale power generation and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

The PEM will be accountable for the technical integrity of projects from inception through to execution. This includes:

  • Leading the development of engineering and design documentation with both internal teams and external Engineering of Record (EOR) partners.
  • Managing the EOR's production of specifications, designs, and engineering solutions, requiring frequent collaboration and site visits.

Project Development Duties:

  • Analyze project specifications and requirements for proposal submissions.
  • Review and provide feedback on customer specifications and related documents.
  • Conduct or oversee calculations for equipment sizing and system design.
  • Prepare specifications to facilitate procurement processes.
  • Assist in evaluating bids and selecting vendors.
  • Draft Engineering Subcontracts for EOR engagement.
  • Coordinate with clients to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Project Execution Duties:

  • Interpret project requirements for execution, including contract documents and technical specifications.
  • Offer value engineering insights to enhance cost efficiency and operational performance.
  • Ensure timely review of EOR drawings and specifications to align with project timelines.
  • Oversee Engineering Subcontract compliance and approve associated invoices.
  • Review vendor deliverables and provide necessary feedback to maintain project schedules.
  • Evaluate technical bids and specifications for equipment procurement.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison with clients, addressing comments and concerns regarding design.
  • Resolve field issues promptly to maintain project momentum.
  • Conduct performance testing to validate project performance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Engineering is mandatory.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in power plant or industrial facility engineering.
  • Strong understanding of power generation processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
