Job Overview

WSP is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves engaging with our Northeast Civil Highway Team, contributing to various projects that address our clients' needs and challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead civil/roadway tasks on smaller projects while providing support for larger, more complex initiatives, ensuring the successful execution of project elements and assignments.
  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of junior staff, technicians, and administrative personnel.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in design software, particularly Microstation OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil3D.
  • Assist senior engineers in managing client relationships and delivering technical presentations.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers and planners on projects involving infrastructure authorities.
  • Uphold ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as dictated by business needs.
Qualifications

Essential
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in Civil/Site/Highway design.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and their application to project work.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of conveying ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and work independently while following company policies.
  • Experience with design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and safety policies.
  • Flexibility to work beyond standard hours as required by project demands.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for project requirements.
Preferred
  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Expertise in preparing technical drawings using Bentley Microstation, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads software.
  • Professional Licensure/Certification.
