Gemma Power Systems is actively seeking a full-time Project Engineering Manager (PEM) to enhance our engineering capabilities. This role will commence in our central office and transition to various project sites as needed. The PEM will be pivotal in overseeing substantial power generation projects and other industrial undertakings.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Engineering Manager will be accountable for the comprehensive technical management of projects from initial proposal through to engineering design, construction, and performance verification. The PEM will lead the creation of engineering and design documentation, collaborating with both in-house engineering teams and external Engineering of Record (EOR) partners. This role requires frequent site visits and interactions with the EOR to ensure alignment on specifications, design, and engineering solutions.

Project Development Responsibilities

  • Analyze project requirements for proposal submissions.
  • Review and provide feedback on customer specifications and related documents.
  • Conduct or oversee calculations for equipment sizing and auxiliary load estimates.
  • Draft or assess specifications to facilitate procurement processes.
  • Assist in evaluating bids and selecting vendors.
  • Prepare engineering subcontract agreements for EOR services.
  • Coordinate with clients to ensure contract compliance.

Project Execution Responsibilities

  • Interpret project execution requirements, including contract documents and technical specifications.
  • Offer value engineering suggestions to enhance cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure timely review of EOR drawings and specifications to meet project timelines.
  • Manage engineering subcontractors to ensure adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Review vendor deliverables and provide timely feedback.
  • Approve invoices for vendor payments related to engineering deliverables.
  • Evaluate technical bids to support equipment procurement.
  • Ensure specifications are conformed for purchasing from selected suppliers.
  • Act as the technical liaison with client representatives, addressing design-related inquiries.
  • Resolve field issues promptly during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Conduct performance tests to confirm compliance with project performance guarantees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is mandatory.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in power plant or industrial facility engineering.
  • Strong understanding of power generation processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to lead a diverse engineering team effectively.
