The Accounting Associate I plays a crucial role in the financial operations of the organization. This position involves daily reconciliation of bank accounts, identifying discrepancies, and communicating effectively with management and relevant departments to ensure swift resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct daily and monthly bank reconciliation activities.
2. Identify and communicate any reconciling items to the appropriate departments.
3. Follow up on all discrepancies to ensure timely resolution.
4. Ensure that monthly reconciliations are documented and submitted for management review.
5. Review bank activity downloads for accuracy.
6. Coordinate with the Resident Operations Department regarding any returned checks for documentation purposes.
7. Analyze misapplied funds and report findings to management.
8. Prepare necessary journal entries to address any discrepancies.
9. Monitor payment dashboards and alert management of any irregularities.
10. Assist with annual audits and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and ledger accounts.
- Familiarity with property management software is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits:
In specific states, the anticipated pay range for this position is $28.20-$33.45 per hour, depending on various factors including location and experience.
