Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Accountant to join our team at Poms & Associates. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process payroll transactions accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Verify timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies, conducting thorough audits to ensure accuracy.
• Calculate wages, deductions, wage garnishments, and overtime, utilizing complex payroll calculations and verification of relevant forms.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure seamless integration of payroll functions, including new hires, terminations, and benefit deductions.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies, including 401(k) accounts, to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Two (2) or more years of proven experience in a payroll accountant or similar role, with a strong background in payroll systems and Paylocity experience a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and simply to a wide variety of individuals.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical approach to tasks, with the ability to apply problem-solving skills to ensure effective and efficient outcomes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, with the ability to create, format, and manage spreadsheets.

Compensation:

Salary range between $60 - $85k, determined by a number of factors including educational background and experience.
