Position Title: Legal Assistant

Location: Remote/Hybrid

Compensation:
$27.00 per hour

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid (2 days in the office) - This role requires a self-motivated individual as they will be the sole office representative on designated days.


Key Responsibilities:

The Legal Assistant will provide essential support to Attorneys by preparing legal documents, pleadings, drafts, and correspondence. Additional tasks include conducting legal research, addressing client inquiries, tracking file locations, generating status reports, and offering various administrative support to ensure the department operates efficiently.


Main Duties:
  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence as instructed.
  • Request outstanding documents, perform PACER and SCRA searches, and obtain reinstatement/payoff figures.
  • Compile and organize information necessary for lawsuit files and collaborate with co-counsel for hearing representation.
  • Manage online files, coordinate hearings, request fee approvals, and oversee multiple calendars.
  • Input relevant legal data into client vendor systems to maintain current status and documentation.
  • Maintain electronic case files encompassing all legal activities, including imaging documents and processing vendor invoices.
  • Communicate with clients, borrowers, courts, and external parties as needed or directed by an attorney or manager.

Perform additional duties as assigned.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two to four years of college education in business, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Three to five years of experience in civil litigation, mortgage banking, or real estate law.
  • Proficient PC skills with the ability to quickly adapt to various systems.
  • Capability to manage workflow in a dynamic, high-volume environment while handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
